Murphy was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Sharon Murphy and Angelo Bertolotti.Her parents were Irish, Eastern European descent and an Italian American descent respectively. she dated different people like Jonathan Brandis, Ashton Kutcher, Jeff Kwatinetz, Joe Macaluso, Simon Monjack.
